An event venue in Bucharest, set in a historic monument

EKO GROUP took over the house in June 2024 and opened it for events. Four things define it.

• A historic monument. The house was granted its building permit in 1935 for the family of Prime Minister Gheorghe Tătărescu, who held office in 1934–1937 and 1939–1940. It was designed by the architects Alexandru Zaharia and Ion Giurgea, in a Mediterranean style with Neo-Romanian elements. The building is a listed historic monument (LMI B-II-m-B-19435).
• A central address. 19 Polonă Street is in Dorobanți, Sector 1, a 7–8 minute walk from Piața Romană metro (M2).
• An 800 m² courtyard. The U-shaped inner courtyard can host a cocktail reception for up to 150 guests.
• One event at a time. The villa never hosts two events at the same time. For the duration of your event, the spaces you book are not shared with any other group.

The salon holds the fireplace made by the sculptor Milița Petrașcu, a pupil of Brâncuși. In the Prime Minister’s study stands a Fichet safe, unopened for decades. Corporate events

Conferences, dinners, cocktail receptions, company parties and indoor team building, all under one roof. Formats range from a board meeting for 10–20 people to a cocktail reception for 150 guests in the courtyard. Every event has a dedicated event manager. Business meetings

Board meetings, executive meetings and business dinners, in a discreet setting. The meeting rooms take 10–20 people, and the Premier’s Library 8–16. In the evening, the conversation can continue in the Cigar Lounge, available from 18:00 by reservation. More on business meetings.

Conferences

The main salons are set out theatre-style for up to 40 people. The 4K audio-visual system, the screen-sharing displays and the wireless microphones support presentations and Q&A sessions. For smaller conversations during the breaks, the Premier’s Library remains available, with 8–16 seats. After the conference, guests can stay on for a cocktail reception for up to 100 people.

Workshops and training

Small groups work at tables in the meeting rooms, 10–20 participants at a time. For a plenary session, the main salons take up to 40 people theatre-style. The high-speed Wi-Fi and the screen-sharing displays are ready for work. When the weather allows, breaks move out to the courtyard, where the Wi-Fi is just as strong. The villa’s premium catering and the bar, with professional staff, are planned together with the format of the session.

Private events

Anniversaries, birthdays, dinners and private parties. A dinner can be organised for up to 80 guests, and a cocktail reception for 100 in the salons or 150 in the courtyard. Launches

Product, brand and book launches. The presentation is held theatre-style, for 40 people. The cocktail reception that follows brings together up to 100 guests in the salons or 150 in the courtyard. The white arcaded façade and the works from the Rădulescu Galleries form the backdrop. The 4K audio-visual system and the wireless microphones support the presentation, and the event manager coordinates the transition from presentation to reception.

Filming and photo shoots

The salon with Milița Petrașcu’s fireplace, the Premier’s Library, the Cigar Lounge, the games rooms and the inner courtyard can all serve as sets. The house welcomes commercials, videos, editorials and photo shoots. Changing set-ups involves no long moves: the salons, the private rooms and the courtyard are a few steps apart. The house has 6 toilets.

Galas, receptions and exhibition openings

A gala dinner can be organised for up to 80 seated guests. For a cocktail reception, the house offers two options: the salons, for 100 guests, and the 800 m² courtyard, for 150.

The décor comes from the collection of the Rădulescu Art Galleries: more than 15,000 pieces, from the 17th to the 20th century. The collection makes the villa a natural setting for exhibition openings and private art exhibitions. More on the collection: the Rădulescu Galleries.

All the spaces are in the same house: the main salons, the meeting rooms, the private rooms and the 800 m² courtyard. An event can move from presentation to dinner to cocktail reception without changing address.
