The rooms of a house, not hotel function rooms

The house at 19 Polonă Street, in Bucharest, received its building permit in 1935 for the family of Prime Minister Gheorghe Tătărescu. Its event spaces are not numbered halls but rooms with names. The main salons, with the fireplace by the sculptor Milița Petrașcu, host the larger events. The Premier's Library is the room for discussions in a small circle: a boardroom table for 8–16 people and presentation technology discreetly built in. A step away, in the Premier's study, stands the Fichet safe, unopened for decades. The meeting rooms are for working sessions and VIP visits, for 10 to 20 people. The Cigar Lounge, the Poker Room and the Black Jack Room are the house's private experiences. The 800 m² inner courtyard hosts the largest formats: up to 150 guests for a cocktail reception.

The villa hosts only one event at a time: for the duration of the event, the spaces you book are not shared with any other group.

How to choose the right event space

Two things matter: how many guests, and which format. The house's capacities are as follows:

• 8–16 people, board meeting: the Premier's Library;
• 10–20 people, meeting or VIP gathering: the meeting rooms;
• up to 40 people, theatre-style presentation: the main salons;
• up to 80 people, seated dinner: the main salons;
• up to 100 people, cocktail reception: the main salons;
• up to 150 people, cocktail reception: the 800 m² courtyard.

If you need an event venue for 50 people in Bucharest, there are therefore two options: a seated meal in the main salons, or a cocktail reception, with extra room to move around. For a small event in Bucharest, of up to 16 guests, the right room is the Premier's Library; for 10 to 20 people, the meeting rooms.

Private evenings: cigars, poker, Black Jack

The Cigar Lounge welcomes groups of 4 to 12 people by reservation, with access from 18:00; a cigar and a bottle of Macallan are on the house, with butler service. The Poker Room takes up to 12 people, and the package is designed for 8–10 players at the games table, with two cigars and two bottles of Macallan on the house, and coffee. The Black Jack Room, with its restored interwar décor, welcomes up to 12 people and has a dedicated drinks service. In all three rooms, the games are social games, played without stakes. What every event includes

Every event has a dedicated manager who oversees the running of the day. The technical set-up is 4K audio-visual, with screen-sharing displays and wireless microphones. Wi-Fi reaches the courtyard as well. Premium catering and a bar are available for the full length of the event. The house has six toilets. The décor comes from the collection of the Rădulescu Art Galleries: more than 15,000 pieces, spanning the 17th to the 20th centuries.
