Conference venue in Bucharest for 40 guests

Theatre-style, 40 chairs, in a salon with exposed beams and chandeliers. It is a small format, and a deliberate one: a room where every participant can be seen and heard.

The room suits you if you are organising:

• an executive conference or a business conference for the management team, where who is in the room matters more than how many;
• a corporate seminar on a focused subject, with a single speaker or a short panel;
• a press conference, with invited journalists and a setting that photographs well;
• a presentation of results, strategy or a portfolio, followed by discussion.

The format suits companies that invite their clients, partners or the press. An interwar salon in a listed historic house says something about the host before the first slide goes up.

If your group will be working around tables, on exercises and in small groups, the right page is workshops and training. For a board meeting of 10–20 people, go to business meetings.

The room you speak in

The Main Salon retains its exposed beams, its chandeliers and the fireplace by the sculptor Milița Petrașcu, a pupil of Brâncuși. The house at 19 Polonă Street, Dorobanți, Sector 1, received its building permit in 1935 for the family of Gheorghe Tătărescu, Prime Minister from 1934 to 1937 and again from 1939 to 1940. It was designed by the architects Alexandru Zaharia and Ion Giurgea in a Mediterranean style with Neo-Romanian elements, and it is a listed historic monument (LMI B-II-m-B-19435). EKO GROUP took over the house in June 2024.

The salons display works from the collection of the Rădulescu Art Galleries, which numbers more than 15,000 pieces from the 17th to the 20th century. At a press conference, the setting shares the frame with the speaker.

Conference equipment: 4K, screen sharing, wireless microphones

• 4K audio-visual equipment, with screens and screen sharing: you connect your laptop and start the presentation;
• wireless microphones for the speakers and for questions from the floor;
• high-speed Wi-Fi, including in the courtyard.

Because the room is small, the speaker has the audience close by, and the wireless microphones stay within reach for questions from the back rows.

The cocktail reception after the conference

The session ends, and the conversations are only just beginning. In the salons, the cocktail reception takes up to 100 guests; in the 800 m² courtyard, up to 150. Premium catering and a bar, with professional staff.

For a smaller group, the reception can stay in a single salon, next to the session room: nobody gets lost along the way, and the conversation begun at the microphone carries on over a glass. This is the usual format for a presentation followed by networking.

Breakout sessions and smaller discussions

The Premier’s Library, with its solid-wood shelving, takes 8–16 people: a working group that breaks away while the main session continues, a press interview or a conversation with a partner. Next door, in the Premier’s office, stands the Fichet safe, unopened for decades.

The Cigar Lounge, available from 18:00 by reservation, rounds off the evening for 4–12 guests. For groups of up to 12, the house also has the Secret Poker Room, whose games table is designed for 8–10 players, and the Black Jack Room, for social games, played without stakes.

The day of the conference

A conference is also judged by its breaks. On the day, you have at your disposal:

• a dedicated event manager, who keeps the programme running to the minute;
• premium catering and a bar, for the coffee breaks and for lunch;
• 6 toilets, for a group that takes its break all at once;
• a central address in Dorobanți, a 7–8 minute walk from Piața Romană metro (M2);
• the villa hosts only one event at a time: for the duration of the conference, the spaces you book are not shared with any other group.
