The Main Salon
The ground-floor salons, with exposed wooden beams and Milița Petrașcu's fireplace, take 40 people theatre-style, 80 at a seated dinner and 100 for a cocktail reception. In summer, when it is warm, the event usually continues in the inner courtyard.
An event space in Bucharest, on the ground floor of the house
The Main Salon is where Vila Tătărescu hosts its larger events: conferences, dinners and cocktail receptions. It is on the ground floor of the house at 19 Polonă Street, Dorobanți, Sector 1, and is used together with the other ground-floor salons. The capacities on this page are those of the main salons, used together.
The villa hosts only one event at a time: for the duration of your event, the salons you book are not shared with any other group.
How many guests, in which format
- Theatre-style, up to 40 people: a conference, a seminar, a results presentation, a product launch.
- Seated, up to 80 people: a dinner, a gala dinner, a working lunch, the company Christmas party.
- Cocktail reception, up to 100 people: a standing reception, a private view, networking after a presentation.
The format is confirmed together with the number of guests: a seated working layout needs more space per person than theatre-style seating.
The formats can follow one another on the same day, with a break in between: the session theatre-style, then the cocktail reception in the same salons. In summer, while the room is reset, the break can be taken in the courtyard. For small groups, the house has other rooms: the Premier's Library, for 2–6 people, and the meeting rooms, for 10–20.
The salon and the courtyard, in the warm season
In summer, when it is warm, the Main Salon is usually used together with the inner courtyard: 800 m², U-shaped, where a cocktail reception takes up to 150 guests, the largest format in the house. The evening can begin with guests being welcomed in the courtyard and continue with dinner in the salon; or dinner comes first, in the salon, and the evening continues in the courtyard.
When you send us the date of your event, we confirm whether the courtyard can be used.
The setting your guests will see
The salon ceiling has exposed, dark wooden beams, and crystal chandeliers light the geometric parquet floor. The fireplace, set in an apse, and the door surrounds are the work of the sculptor Milița Petrașcu, a pupil of Brâncuși. The salons display works from the collection of the Rădulescu Art Galleries, which numbers more than 15,000 pieces from the 17th to the 20th century.
The building permit for the house was issued in 1935, for the family of Prime Minister Gheorghe Tătărescu. It was designed by the architects Alexandru Zaharia and Ion Giurgea, in a Mediterranean style with Neo-Romanian elements, and is a listed historic monument (LMI B-II-m-B-19435). Technology and services on the day
The salons have 4K audio-visual equipment, screens with screen sharing and wireless microphones, for presentations, speeches or a video moment. Premium catering and a bar are available for the full length of the event, with professional staff. Your dedicated event manager coordinates the day, from welcoming the guests to the close.

How to book the Main Salon
Pricing is on request. Send us the date, the estimated number of guests, the format (theatre-style, seated or cocktail), the menu and the duration through the contact form. The team will reply with availability and a proposal. If your event is in summer, let us know whether you would like to use the courtyard as well.
Guests arrive easily by metro: Piața Romană station (M2) is a 7–8 minute walk away.

Questions about the Main Salon
Does the salon suit a smaller group of 20–30 people?
Yes. The figures on this page are maximum capacities, and there is no fixed minimum number of guests. For a small group, the event can stay in a single salon; tell us your estimated number of guests and we will suggest the right layout.
Can I see the salon before booking?
Yes, on the guided tour “Art. History. Experience.”, Monday to Friday between 12:00 and 17:00 and at weekends between 12:00 and 19:00, booked online. Details on the guided tour page.
What technology is there for presentations and video calls?
Presentations are shown on screens with screen sharing, with a 4K audio-visual system and wireless microphones for speakers and for questions from the room. For a video conference, confirm the set-up with your event manager before booking.
Can I bring my own décor or branding?
The house is a listed historic monument (LMI B-II-m-B-19435), so any décor you bring and the placement of branding are agreed in advance with your dedicated event manager. Tell us what you have in mind when you request a quote.
What does the price of hiring the salon depend on?
Pricing is set on request, for each event. The quote depends on the date, the number of guests, the format, the menu and the duration of the event and, in summer, on whether the inner courtyard is used.
Where do guests park?
