A private Black Jack evening in Bucharest

The Black Jack Room is reserved for your private event. It is in the house of Prime Minister Gheorghe Tătărescu, at 19 Polonă Street, Sector 1, Bucharest.

It is not a room open to the public. Only the guests of your event have access.

Interwar décor, restored

The interior has been restored in the spirit of the period. Today it is the room set aside for the social games of your evening.

The décor is completed by a selection from the collection of the Rădulescu Art Galleries — more than 15,000 pieces from the 17th to the 20th century.

Up to 12 people

The room takes up to 12 people. At this scale, the evening remains a conversation: everything said in the room can be heard, and no one is left on the sidelines.

It is the size of a small team, a group of partners or a circle of friends who meet once a year.

Social games, played without stakes

The game is played for its own pleasure. Here, Black Jack remains a social game, played without stakes: no bets are placed, and no money is won or lost. The villa does not operate a gambling room.

What remains is the ritual: the table, the cards, each player's turn, and an evening that passes without a glance at the clock.

Drinks, catering and an event manager

The room has a dedicated drinks service. Premium catering and a bar, for the whole evening. You agree the details in advance with your dedicated event manager.

The villa operates exclusively as a private event venue.

The house has 6 toilets and Wi-Fi, including in the courtyard.

The neighbouring rooms, for the rest of the evening

The house has two more rooms for the rest of the evening. In the Poker Room, play is also without stakes, in groups of 8–10 people, with a games table, two cigars, two bottles of Macallan and coffee, courtesy of the host.

The Cigar Lounge is open from 18:00, for a group of at least 4 people, with butler service, a cigar and a bottle of Macallan on the house.

The house where the games are played

The building permit for the house was issued in 1935, for the family of Gheorghe Tătărescu, Prime Minister in 1934–1937 and 1939–1940. It was designed by the architects Alexandru Zaharia and Ion Giurgea, in a Mediterranean style with Neo-Romanian elements. Today it is a listed historic monument (LMI B-II-m-B-19435).

In the salon, the fireplace and the door surrounds are the work of the sculptor Milița Petrașcu, a pupil of Brâncuși. It was Arethia Tătărescu, the Premier's wife, who commissioned the Târgu Jiu ensemble from Brâncuși. A Fichet safe, unopened for decades, remains in the Premier's study. EKO GROUP took over the house in June 2024.
